Run All Night

Release Date: April 17, 2015

This should be a familiar sight to all by now. Liam Neeson has found his niche making action movies. With each success, we can be assured there will be another. And here it is. Run All Night is about Jimmy (Neeson) an ex-mobster and hit man known as The Gravedigger. He gave up his family for the mob and a lifetime as a mob enforcer has left Jimmy scarred. I’M NOT GIVING AWAY ANY SPIOLERS, IT’S ALL IN THE TRAILER, CALM DOWN!!!┬áHe finds himself most nights at the bottom of a bottle, his head full of woes and his DUI attorney on speed-dial. One night, he finds his son (played by Joel Kinnamen) at the receiving end of a hit. Neeson kills the would-be assassin, only to find that the killer was the son of his old friend and mob boss Shawn Maguire (played by Ed Harris). Jimmy and his son are now on the run from the mob who will do anything to bring them down.

Of course Liam Neeson (Schindler’s List, Star Wars: Episode I) stars, and he will be backed up by Ed Harris (A Beautiful Mind, The Rock), Joel Kinnaman (The Killing, Robocop), Vincent D’Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, Ed Wood),Genesis Rodriguez (Identity Thief, Tusk)

Directing this film is Jaume Collet-Serra who has worken with Mr. Neeson before on Unknown and Non-Stop. By now I’m sure he knows how to play to Neeson’s strengths.

The screenplay was written by Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace, The Dynamiter)

And Junkie XL (300: Rise of an Empire, Divergent) will compose the music. His career as a composer is ramping up and he is slated to compose for Mad Max: Fury Road, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I’ve always held the belief that a good composer really helps to make a great movie. Look at John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and James Horner. If you want to see a lot of great movies, follow the career of your favorite composer.

LiamNeesonActionMoviesAs stated previously, Liam Neeson has done more than his share of action movies, particularly those involving his family. They are all very entertaining and have done well at the box office. If the formula works, keep going with it.
